No Easy Feat: Pitcher Wins PL Gold Bat Thursday, October 29th, 2020 A pitcher being voted the most valuable player in his league is a rare feat, and this year it did indeed happen. The 2020 Premier League Gold Bat has gone to Boston Patriots ace Jorge Aguirre after a stellar 20-0 season. In 25 starts he piled up 170 innings, 221 strikeouts, 30 walks and a 1.11 ERA. Aguirre held opposing hitters to a .164 batting average and compiled a 7.1 WAR along the way. Thom Wilcox of the Brooklyn Dodgers finished second in voting, while Neil Lawson of the Buckhead Bowties finished third. |
