PL Names Aguirre Gold Ball Winner Wednesday, October 28th, 2020 The Boston Patriots have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Jorge Aguirre, this year's Premier League Gold Ball selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Aguirre compiled a 20-0 record in 25 starts, tallied 221 strikeouts in 170 innings and recorded a 1.11 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .164 batting average against him. Ramón Ortega of the Brooklyn Dodgers finished second in voting, while Jim Eliott of the Brooklyn Dodgers finished third. |
