Irving Hopeless Against Matos Saturday, August 3rd, 2019 Lynwood Matos of the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles just toyed with the Irving Blue Sox today, blanking them 4-0. He was almost untouchable, baffling them on a 5-hit shutout with 2 strikeouts and no walks. "I'm sweating now because it's hot in here," Matos said in the clubhouse after the game. "But it didn't even feel like I was sweating out there." One of his teammates said it was easy to play behind him today. "It was like he's just playing with the hitters and doing whatever he wanted to do." So far this season Matos has a 3-4 record, 10 starts, 67.2 innings, 69 strikeouts and a 3.86 ERA. |
