Rawhides Espinosa Sizzles with Cycle
Saturday, August 10th, 2019
"To hit for the cycle" is one of the rarest of feats in a baseball game. This occurs when a player hits a single, double, triple and home run in the same game, getting every type of hit possible. Clark Espinosa grabbed a piece of baseball history today when he hit for the cycle. Espinosa went 4 for 6 with 7 RBI and 3 runs scored against Virginia Beach, leading the Belvedere Park Rawhides to a 16-5 win at Virginia Beach Grounds.

"I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Espinosa said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me. The ball seemed that big to me. And it just floated in."

Clark Espinosa hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run triple in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Tommy Middleton in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.

This year Espinosa is hitting .322 with 66 hits, 11 home runs, 38 RBIs and has scored 37 runs.
