Big Day with Bat: Herrera 5-5 Tuesday, July 23rd, 2019 Manuel Herrera really sizzled at the plate today. The Ellenburg shortstop blistered the Helena Grizzlies for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his club's 17-12 defeat. "Herrera was too tough to get out today," the Grizzlies skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too. But hey, I don't mind if every game somebody gets 5 hits off us, as long as we win. That's the bottom line. We ain't playin' for stats." Manuel Herrera singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, was hit by a pitch in the 5th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. So far this year in 53 games Herrera is hitting .290 with 2 home runs, 31 RBIs and 24 runs scored. |
