Appeldoorn Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Wednesday, September 18th, 2019 The Lynx won the game today, but you would have been hard pressed to find anyone talking about it. The focus seemed to be on catcher Timmy Appeldoorn extending his hitting streak to 20 games by going 3-for-5 in the game. "Sure we are happy that we won, but seeing Timmy extend his streak was also special," said a jubilant Calgary manager. "He's a special player who is capable of doing some amazing things at the plate." For the record, the Lynx defeated the Balboa Buccaneers 7-5 at Hustlers Stadium. Timmy Appeldoorn struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year Appeldoorn is batting .330 with 16 home runs and 63 RBIs. In 89 games he has scored 71 times. |
