Tapia of Leupp Player of the Week Monday, August 6th, 2018 17-year-old Juan Tapia made a few Leupp headlines during this past week as the rookie catcher proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and USPL Double A officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 13 hits in 26 at-bats to put up a .500 average. Tapia collected 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and scored 8 runs. Tapia is batting at a .243 pace this season, picking up 65 hits in 267 at-bats with 9 home runs, 38 RBIs and 25 runs scored. |
