Medina Batters Leupp for 5 Hits
Friday, July 13th, 2018
After the Westwood 18-1 victory over Leupp and his 5-hit day shortstop Luis Medina told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good. Three or four hits even better, five or more are out of sight ... and if it is in pro ball, it is really something special." The 20-year-old player gained that distinction today at Sixshooters Stadium with a spectacular 5 for 6 game against the Leupp Arrowheads. The skipper of the Sixshooters spoke glowingly of Medina, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Luis did that to perfection today." Luis Medina hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

Medina has collected 17 hits for the Sixshooters this year, 0 of them home runs. He has also netted 7 RBIs and scored 10 runs while batting .243.
