Appeldoorn Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 26
Monday, August 20th, 2018
The hitting streak that Seattle catcher Timmy Appeldoorn had going was ended today by the Villa Ridge Bronchos. Appeldoorn, who had hits in his previous 26 games, was stymied today, but the rest of his team picked him up, earning the Terns a 2-1 victory at Ballpark of Villa Ridge. He was hitless in 3 at-bats.

"Hitting streaks come and go. One good thing came out of it, however, it perked up my batting average a little bit, but did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with the streak always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win."

Appeldoorn's current batting average stands at .316 and he has chalked up 10 home runs and 36 RBIs.
