3-Homer Hat Trick for O'Neal Friday, August 10th, 2018 Today was a special one for Christian O'Neal of the Wichita Outriders as he slammed three home runs against the Rappahannock Partisans. But it didn't end on a happy note. The Partisans outhit him and got the win by a score of 12-11. Nevertheless the Wichita left fielder had quite a game at Nomads Ballpark as he collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 6 and scored 3 runs. "Lately, I been uppercutting the ball too much. I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark," he said to sportswriters after the game. "No big long outs for me in this game ... I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot three times. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." Christian O'Neal hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 4th, flied out in the 7th, walked in a run in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Donald Hutchinson in the 10th. This season O'Neal is batting .395 with 10 home runs. He has scored 33 runs and driven in 40. |
