Flint Bashes 5 Base Hits Wednesday, August 8th, 2018 "It was like I was hitting little league pitching again," said Kelly Flint after his 5-hit performanace against the Twins. "No offense meant to Corpus Christi, but I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid league park, it was Twins Ballpark. I'm just not too happy that we lost 13-11." The Hialeah catcher had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 6 at-bats. His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying, "Kelly worked the entire offseason on trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball and the hard work is paying off in base hits." "That's what I'm trying to do," Flint said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it. It sure did work today." Kelly Flint singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Kyle Lockhart in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. Currently Flint has 30 home runs and a .326 batting average. |
