Gonzáles 5-5 for Sylvania Thursday, July 5th, 2018 Who needs batting practice? Iván Gonzáles of Sylvania apparently doesn't as he battered Corpus Christi with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 8-7 win. He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 5 day... will my name be in the record books now?" Iván Gonzáles singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Dan Riggs in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Gonzáles is hitting .314 in 2018 with 19 RBIs and 7 home runs. |
