League KO's BC-Republics Players with 5-Game Suspensions
Monday, August 6th, 2018
You would have thought you were at a hockey game yesterday at Colonels Ballpark. A free-for-all broke out when John Boone of Philadephia 1776 and Spike Wells of New Amsterdam rushed one another on the field and had to be restrained by umpires and teammates. Few blows landed, but it was enough for them to be ejected from the game.

Today both teams received notification from the league office that the two players would be suspended for 5 games.

Presently Boone is batting .328 with 19 hits and 2 home runs. He has knocked in 13 runs and scored 6 times.

Thus far this season Wells has saved 0 games. His won-lost mark is 1 win and 1 loss with 11 strikeouts in 8.1 innings, along with a 4.32 ERA.
