Going, Going, Gone! Im Hits 3 Homers Monday, August 6th, 2018 Min-heui Im of Phoenix slugged three home runs against the Louisville at Churchill Grounds. Nevertheless, he couldn't win the game all by himself. The Slugs spoiled his record-setting day by defeating the Hotspur 9-6. His manager said afterward, "The loss puts a damper on his outstanding game, but Min-heui still will get his name in the league record book. That is some consolation. But knowing him, he would have preferred a win." Commenting on his explosive day, the Phoenix first baseman said, "The first two I got all of them and it was no doubt they were gone. The last one I got lucky. It seemed like the wind helped it a little. Old Mother Nature helped me get into the record books. I wish she had helped us win the game, too." For the game Im was 3 for 4 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Min-heui Im hit a two-run home run off Sozen Raikatuji in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Mhelter Vitor in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off António Rodríguez in the 9th. This year Im has batted at a .315 pace with 86 hits, 23 home runs, 67 RBIs and scored 54 times. |
