Silver Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Sunday, July 6th, 2014 And the hits just keep on coming -- especially off the red-hot bat of Mike Silver. The Ghosts first baseman got 2 hits in 6 at-bats in today's 12-3 triumph over the San Francisco Fog at San Francisco Grounds. Silver has now hit safely in his last 20 games. Asked by the press, how it feels to go through something like this, he replied, "the longer it goes on, the more the pressure intensifies. The press coverage can get relentless at times. I wish I could just go out and play the game without all this distraction, but I know that's not going to happen. I know I will just have to grin and bear it." Mike Silver grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
