Super Swinger -- Shaffer Slams 5 Hits Sunday, August 3rd, 2014 Today the Hotspur downed the Sea Turtles 11-8 as Roger Shaffer sprayed hits all over Ballpark of San Diego in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 5 at-bats. The Phoenix right fielder said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them." Roger Shaffer singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. In the 2014 season Shaffer is hitting .292 with 18 home runs. |
