Season-Ending Injury for Eric Martin
Thursday, August 1st, 2030
Hartford first baseman Eric Martin could miss the remainder of the season because of a broken bone in the elbow. He exited yesterday's Ottawa game after injuring himself while running the bases. The original diagnosis said Martin would be out 7 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

This season in 17 games, Martin has hit at a .281 clip with 16 hits, 2 home runs, 2 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
