Smith Strokes 5 Hits Sunday, May 12th, 2030 Jonathan Smith exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Swamp Bats Stadium. The Jackson HS first baseman had a field day in the 16-12 triumph over the Brookline HS Warriors, finishing 5-for-6. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Smith must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Jonathan Smith singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, doubled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
