Matos Bashes 5 Base Hits Monday, April 29th, 2030 At Paints Ballpark today, Carlos Matos of the Newport News HS Paints put on a hitting clinic. He banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and mauled the Dublin Jerome HS Celtics pitching staff, but Newport News HS still came up short on the scoreboard. The Paints went home with the 7-6 loss, in spite of a standout 5-hit performance from their left fielder. "Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," Matos said in the postgame interview. Carlos Matos hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
