Trojans Stop Knowles at 21 Monday, April 22nd, 2030 The hitting streak that Temiskaming District Secondary School second baseman Hilton Knowles had kept going for 21 games was ended today by the Jeffersonville-Youngsville Central HS Trojans. Knowles was stymied over 5 at-bats today, but the rest of his team picked him up, taking the 13-1 victory at Ballpark of Bethlehem HS. "Hitting streaks come and go," Knowles said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." This year Knowles has hit at a .500 clip with 28 RBIs, 7 home runs and 31 runs scored. |
