Colm Spence Lost for Season
Tuesday, May 14th, 2030
The doctors have spoken and Colm Spence of the Creighton Blue Jays didn't like what he heard. The 19-year-old closer is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Spence sustained his season-ending injury during the Texas Longhorns game yesterday at Bass Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Creighton medical staff reported Spence had a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 6 months.

This year Spence has 1 save. In 10 relief appearances he has tossed 12.1 innings, fanned 13 and given up 8 walks with a 1-1 record. The Creighton reliever has recorded a 6.57 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .244 when he is on the mound.
