Gaines Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Sunday, September 8th, 2030 With 1 hit at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace today, Al Gaines added another game to his hitting streak -- the El Dorado right fielder has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Oilers today, as they fell, 8-4, to the Chicago Machine. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Chicago manager Carlos Uribe said later.
