Gallegos Strokes 5 Hits
The El Paso Texans stopped the State College Spikes by a score of 14-5 at Dirty South Park today, with the lion's share of the credit going to catcher Richie Gallegos. The 24-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Gallegos said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Gallegos did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Spikes.

"Not much that I can say," offered State College manager Ken Young. "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Richie Gallegos singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run double in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.

This year Gallegos has hit at a .325 clip with 23 RBIs, 5 home runs and 20 runs scored.
