Bandits Sneak Past Athletics, 6-5
|
With designated hitter Ángel González leading the charge, the San Francisco Bandits defeated the Philadelphia Athletics, 6-5, at Edmund Fitzgerald Field. González, who was drafted in the three round of the 2026 draft, was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Kunihiko Daikawa earned the save for San Francisco, his 13th of the year. The Bandits improved to 21-26.
González had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a 2-1 sinker from Ricardo Pérez, he banged a 2-run double to right, giving the Bandits a 6-5 lead. It was the 4th double of the year for González.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," González told the San Francisco Chronicle.
