Panthers Lose to Sheens, 3-2
|
St Charles right-hander Tom Wallace made an effective start against the Vista Panthers at Crown Royal Stadium, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Jesse Jones finished the game for St Charles and earned his 1st save. With the win, St Charles elevates its record to 1-1.
Had Lúcio Alfaro not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Alfaro hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Sheens.
After the game, St Charles manager Fernando Sánchez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
