Great Day for Austin in Bandits Win
Not everyone stuck through the 44-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.

The San Francisco Bandits defeated the New York Knights, 13-5. Earning player of the game honors was designated hitter Chris Austin, who went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. San Francisco starter Francisco Arellano was credited with the win after throwing 88 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 1-1.

Michael Elliott, the first overall pick in the 2021 draft, aided the San Francisco cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Bandits manager Frank Rodgers. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."

The Bandits are off to a tough start, getting just their 8th win in 20 games.
