Cards Bang Out 8-5 Win Versus Pocatello
|
The Portland Cards grabbed a 8-5 win over the Pocatello Bellas at The Kallipolis. Portland first baseman Paul Mullins was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 to earn player of the game honors. Portland reliever Taylor Bowen was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Jaime Espinoza took the loss. The Cards, now 2-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Mullins had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count slider from Jaime Espinoza, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Cards a 7-5 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Mullins.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Mullins told the Portland Times.
