López Hits 2 home runs in Tropics Win
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Ernesto López, the Maui Tropics defeated the Irvine Gang Green, 7-4. López hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Tropics. Denny Green picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-1. Jesús De Los Santos was tagged with the loss. Archie Summers got the save, his 6th in 12 chances.

López contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Maui in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-0, López took a splitter from Jesús De Los Santos and stroked the home run to right. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Tropics to leap in front, 3-2.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," López said.

Maui's record now stands at 59-81, placing them last in the National League Western Division.
