Walk-Off Victory for Stars Takes Record to 93-39
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Springfield Stars eventually prevailed at Kekambas Park.
The Springfield Stars stopped the Nevada Noise, 4-3, at Kekambas Park. The Stars got a big game from Felipe Guerrero, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. José Valdéz got credit for the win, improving to 4-7. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings.
Guerrero had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the tenth. On a 1-1 curveball from Dan Wilson, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Stars a 4-3 lead. It was the 35th home run of the year for Guerrero.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Guerrero told the Springfield Bulletin.
The Stars own a robust 93-39 mark.
