River Sharks Jolt Rockets with Late Rally

Austin and Nassau got after it at Nassau Grounds.
Austin left fielder Fred Abrams played a vital role in his team's 6-3 triumph over Nassau. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Austin. Austin reliever Manuel Gil picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Joaquín Gonzáles took the loss.
Had Enrico Vargas not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Vargas hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the River Sharks.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Vargas.
The River Sharks raised their record to 59-60.
