Crown Royal Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Baffin Island Beavers and the St Charles Sheens.
Baffin Island catcher Mike MacFadden was instrumental in his team's 7-6 win over the St Charles Sheens. MacFadden went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Beavers. Reliever Juan González picked up the win. His record improves to 6-3. Bob Martin took the loss. Beau Brown nailed down his 12th save.
MacFadden had a game-changing single in the top of the tenth. On a 1-0 fastball from Bob Martin, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Beavers a 7-6 lead. It was the 90th hit of the year for MacFadden.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said MacFadden.
The Beavers own a robust 73-30 mark.
