The left-hander turned in a performance for the ages at Beaver Dam today, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the Kenilworth Aces to victory in Game 1 of the Divisional Round. Smeddon held the Baffin Island Beavers to 3 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 6. The win got the best-of-7 series off to a good start for Kenilworth, which now leads 1-0.

Smeddon allowed no runs over 9 innings. He also racked up 6 strikeouts.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Smeddon said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow. Slated to start are José Martínez for Kenilworth and Ron Young for Baffin Island.
