 | Cantú Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Thursday, May 17th, 2029 The Tennessee Volunteers stopped the North Carolina State Wolfpack today 5-3 and Alfredo Cantú collected a base hit yet again. The Tennessee first baseman finished with 1 hit to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20. "I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Cantú told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games." Alfredo Cantú flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th, struck out in the 8th and flied out in the 9th. Currently Cantú is batting .300 with 54 hits and 8 home runs. He has knocked in 39 runs and scored 37 times. |   |
