 | Hit Parade: Boyer Pops 5 Hits Thursday, July 5th, 2029 It seemed that Scottsdale designated hitter Steve Boyer could do no wrong as the Scorpions KO'd the Pilots, 16-2 today. Boyer rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Pilots hurlers were throwing. "I think the Scorpions were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Pensacola fan after the game. "I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Boyer in the postgame press interview. Steve Boyer singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Ron Winston in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
