 | Johnson Tags Power for 5 Hits Sunday, September 2nd, 2029 Beaumont Roughnecks catcher Marvin Johnson had a day to remember at Paradise Park today, ripping apart the West Virginia Power and sparking the Roughnecks to a 21-4 victory. Johnson wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Johnson told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it." Marvin Johnson singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, walked in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
