In a game played at Proton Place, the Moose Jaw catcher blistered the Culver City Extras for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace his club to a 16-8 victory. "Sumita was too tough to get out today," Extras skipper Albert Pérez said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Yasuhiko Sumita hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Sebastián Cervantes in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
