Fernández's 20-Game Hit Streak Ends
Wednesday, September 19th, 2029
José Fernández saw his 20-game hitting streak wither and die today during the Tuscaloosa Trout Slayers win over Havana at Tuscaloosa Municipal Stadium. The 33-year-old first baseman was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Havana Rollers, but his teammates produced enough offense to take the game, 3-1.

"Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Fernández told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 20 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good."

A look at his season totals shows Fernández with 23 home runs, .303 BA, .430 OBP, 109 RBIs and 98 runs scored.
