 | Fernández Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Tuesday, September 18th, 2029 The Tuscaloosa Trout Slayers may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 10-4 to the Havana Rollers, but José Fernández continued to hit like a god. The first baseman collected 2 hits in 3 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Fernández is playing great and is on fire right now," Trout Slayers manager Yu-eh Kwan said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Fernández was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." José Fernández singled in the 1st, walked in a run in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and singled in the 7th. So far this year Fernández is batting .305 with 23 home runs. |   |
