Marshals Score Late to Upend Rockets, 4-3
|
Houston right-hander José Salinas made an effective start against the Nassau Rockets at Nassau Grounds, leading his team to a 4-3 win. Salinas, now 1-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 3 earned runs. Vinícius Itaquy converted his 19th save in 21 tries.
The Marshals got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Chris Parker. For the game, Parker went 1 for 1. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 45th hit of the season gave Houston a 4-3 lead.
"I was a little disappointed," said Nassau manager Ji-an Shaw. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The Marshals bumped their record to 29-26 with this latest triumph.
