Newell Helps Stars Run Win Streak to 3
The Springfield Stars got a rain-soaked win over the Boston Rebels at Fenway Park.

Elliott Newell made an impact in the 13-5 Springfield win over Boston. Newell, who leads the CL in extra base hits with 15, was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. The Stars, now 17-6, have been on fire in the early going.

Felipe Guerrero, who is tied for 8th in the CL in runs scored with 17, contributed to the Springfield win with a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 2 runs scored, and 4 runs batted in.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Guerrero.
