The San Francisco Bandits extended their losing streak with a loss to the New York Knights.

The New York Knights picked up a win at Bay View Park, knocking off the San Francisco Bandits, 7-2. On the mound for New York was right-hander Thatcher Smith, who played a pivotal role in the win. New York, now 13-8, has gotten their season off to a good start.

In the top of the seventh inning, third baseman Vic Langlois came through big-time for the Knights. With New York leading 2-1, he belted a 2-run home run.

"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Smith. "Successful pitchers do it."
