Rebels Come Back Late to Top Oilers
|
The Boston Rebels and El Dorado Oilers obliged those fans who came to Fenway Park hoping for an exciting game.
Boston beat El Dorado at Fenway Park, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to right fielder Howard Lambert, who earned player of the game honors. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. The Oilers, at 5-13, have stumbled out of the gate.
Gerald Burnett aided the Boston cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
In postgame comments to the Boston Daily News, Burnett said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
