| Sheens Come Up Short at El Dorado | The St Charles Sheens got a sterling performance from pitcher Paul Adams, but the Oilers still prevailed, 4-3. Adams was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. El Dorado reliever Félix Andrade picked up the win, upping his record to 5-0. Juan Rivera was saddled with the loss. Kuang-yin Yue converted his 30th save in 36 tries.
Mathew Clayton found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing St Charles hurler Juan Rivera, the 21-year-old third baseman reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run. His 43rd RBI of the season put the Oilers on top, 4-3.
Clayton attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
