Bandits Continue Skid Thanks to López, Tropics
The Maui Tropics topped the San Francisco Bandits, 14-7, in National League action at Bay View Park. The player of the game was Maui designated hitter Ernesto López. José Ortíz, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 6 runs on 10 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 1-2. The Bandits, at 2-14, have stumbled out of the gate.

López had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the third inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Tropics went on to win.
