The Pocatello Bellas got a superb performance from pitcher Orlando Trinidad, but the Portland Cards still won the game, 3-2. Trinidad was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball. Losses have been few and far between for the Bellas so far this season. Their record drops to 8-4.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the bottom of the fifth inning. That's when left fielder Troy Donaldson, who is a two-time All-Star, drew a walk. The Cards went on to win.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Pocatello manager Danny Lombardi said following the tough loss.
