| Beavers Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-0 | The Baffin Island Beavers moved to within one game of the League Championship today, downing the visiting Irvine Gang Green at Beaver Dam by a score of 4-1. Beavers left-hander Braydon Schute was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Beavers a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Round.
Baffin Island grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, Mike MacFadden delivered a bases-clearing double, to make it 4-1 in favor of the Beavers.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," MacFadden said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Iqaluit.
