| Beavers Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0 | Leave it to the veteran.
The Baffin Island Beavers got a great start from 34-year-old right-hander Reagan Wear, who earned player of the game honors today as Baffin Island won the contest 4-2 at The Ballpark at Irvine. Wear threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball in the win, which allowed the Baffin Island to grab a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Lawrence Yates's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a curveball from Yu-shu Kong for a 2-run home run. It put Baffin Island in front, 4-2.
"We have been clicking right from the start of this series, so our mission statement at the moment is just don't tinker with anything," Baffin Island manager Bobby Jones told reporters.
Game 3 is set to be played Friday, October 12th, 2029 at Beaver Dam. The scheduled starters for the game are Mike Marrero for the Irvine Gang Green and Braydon Schute for the the Baffin Island Beavers.
