The inspired effort of Baffin Island shortstop Dave Craig was not enough to prevent a 6-2 loss to the Pocatello Bellas. Craig went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Jaime Espinoza earned save number 2. With their winning streak at 6, the Bellas have raced to a strong start this season.
The Bellas got a big at-bat from second baseman Shane Hutchinson. For the game, Hutchinson went 2-5 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Pocatello a 2-1 lead.
"I thought we played a nice game," Hutchinson told the Pocatello Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
