Hot Bat Cooled, Jones Hitless Against Torchmen Sunday, April 23rd, 2028 The Oceanside HS Pirates defeated the Tacoma HS Torchmen 4-1 today at Field of the Torchmen, but Heath Jones's 20-game hitting string was snapped and went to the wayside. Jones went hitless in 4 at-bats. "I enjoyed the streak," the left fielder said in a BNN interview after the game. "It's great in one way, but the day-to-day pressure to keep it going can be tough to handle, too. The main thing is we got the 'W' today. That's all that really counts." This year Jones is batting .361 with 5 home runs. |
