Texas Tech Loses José Fernández for Season
Saturday, May 22nd, 2027
Baseball can be a contact sport at times. It can exact a harsh toll on a player's body. In a recent game against Oklahoma State Cowboys, Red Raiders reliever José Fernández was injured throwing a pitch and is expected to miss 16 months with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. The team did not announce any roster moves today related to this injury. The Texas Tech skipper told BNN that personnel decisions would be announced as early as tomorrow.

This season Fernández has earned 1 saves, tossed 35.2 innings, made 16 relief appearances, fanned 47 hitters and posted an ERA of 3.03. Teams are hitting .163 against him.
